Our Goals

As the Jewish Alumni Council (JAC), we believe in the power of community, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence. Our mission is to create a vibrant and thriving environment for Jewish stakeholders on college campuses. We believe that a culture built on intellectual rigor, truth, objectivity, and institutional neutrality is key to ensuring a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect that is essential to combatting antisemitism. Together, we can create a campus landscape that empowers all stakeholders while contributing meaningfully to the rich tapestry of ideas and outcomes that define higher education. Here’s how we’re making that happen:

Assuring A Thriving  Jewish Community on Campuses

Promoting Academic Excellence

Ensuring Consistent Accountability

We are committed to creating a thriving Jewish life on campuses. We believe strengthening Jewish identity and connection to Israel is important across the individual campuses as well as across all the campuses collectively.

Fostering thriving Jewish life is key to ensure Jewish student, staff, faculty, alumni and leadership can fully participate in campus life without fear of discrimination or harassment.

We are dedicated to actively combating antisemitism in its many forms and from any of its sources. This includes raising awareness about the various manifestations of Jew-hatred, from overt acts of discrimination to subtle biases that can undermine the safety and well-being of Jewish individuals on campus.

We are committed to ensuring that universities'   reaffirm and exercise their unwavering commitment to diversity of ideas, academic excellence, and true leadership.

This intersects with their responsibility to address antisemitism on campus.

We advocate for an academic environment that  encourages open dialogue with an emphasis on objectivity, fact and moral clarity.

We demand the adoption, exercising and enforcement, of equally applied codes of conduct, policies, and procedures that govern and protect all students, staff, professors, and leadership.

We advocate for transparent policies that address discrimination, harassment, and antisemitism, ensuring everyone knows their rights and responsibilities.

We insist on regular reviews, assessments and revisions or additions of policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective and relevant.

Connecting All Stakeholders

Maintaining Clarity of Perspective

We place a great  importance on fostering connections among Jewish university stakeholders and allies across individual campuses as well as all campuses collectively.

By uniting Jewish alumni from various backgrounds and perspectives, the Council leverages its collective expertise and influence to make a meaningful impact on campus life and beyond.

Supporting student-led and faculty-led initiatives is key facet in our approach.

Together, we transform alumni and parent networks and partners into a force for lasting and meaningful change because when we stand united, we stand unshakeable.

We value our independence because it allows us to focus on what truly matters--the needs of our community.

We are committed to respond effectively to community needs and arising challenges while staying true to our core values and goals.

This flexibility ensures that we remain relevant and impactful in an ever-changing landscape.
